Popcorn anyone?

Early on Magan knew she wanted to have a candy buffet for her favors.  She’d seen how popular they have been at weddings we’ve done and thought it would make a great favor.  So for months we looked for apothecary jars.  The best buy might have been $12 for a large one at Ross.

But she eventually changed her mind.  While at a wedding expo we saw a popcorn buffet and she loved it!  You can buy popcorn in just about any flavor you like so why not?  And when a Groupon popped up (pun intended) for Lonestar Popcorn, we knew it was meant to be.

We really wanted an eclectic look for the popcorn table so no two jars were alike.  We also searched for large ones because popcorn takes up a lot of room and we felt they all needed lids to keep it fresh.  We purchased small 2×3 picture frames at Hobby Lobby to make labels for the different flavors.  I’ve seen some couples actually use adhesive labels but we vetoed that so the jars are more easily re-used.

We found some long clear plastic bags for guests to fill and had the table placed by the door as they left.  I saw a lot of people around the table though there still was a lot left…I guess we over bought.

So if you like the idea of doing a popcorn buffet too, maybe buy a little less than you think you need. 😉

Be Carefree,
