The Meadors

This isn't my Bride but it is her dress - isn't it adorable? Dress by Alfred Angelo.

Tara first contacted me in April of 2010.  We exchanged perhaps two emails before she decided to hire me to officiate her wedding.  So she sent me a check and her date was booked – and I first met her a couple of weeks ago.

I immediately liked Tara and Garrett.  They knew what they wanted – short (but not too short), intimate, fun, with just a touch of religion.  Actually Tara knew what she wanted – Garrett would just smile and defer to her when asked what he wanted.

The Bride always knew she wanted to get married somewhere on Lake Buchanan so she did a google search and found Canyon of the Eagles Resort.  Since their ceremony was a destination wedding for nearly everyone, the resort offered both a lovely location and accomodations for their 50 guests.  This was my first time out there and it really is a gorgeous property.

The ceremony was held at 7:00 on a clearing with the lake in the background.  There was no wedding party, so the Groom and I walked out together followed shortly after by Tara and her father.  There was no formal “giving of the bride” but that didn’t mean he couldn’t escort her.

Garrett wore brown slacks and a white shirt with a teal tie…and a sunburned face!  He told me as we were walking out that at least no one would be able to tell when he got embarrassed.  ; ) The Bride wore a gorgeous short dress from Alfred Angelo  with a beautiful quilling-esque detail on the skirt.  The top was strapless and it flattered her beautifully.  She wore teal sandals with just a touch of bling.

The guests all enjoyed the humor in the ceremony.  Afterwards I invited them all to follow the Bride and Groom to the reception – everyone was looking forward to eating some delicious barbecue (including Tara and Garrett)!

Tara and Garrett – thank you for choosing me to be a part of your wedding day.  I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
