When you send your groom to pick-up his tuxedo (or anyone picking up a tuxedo for that matter), PLEASE remind them to double-check their order. They should not only check the tuxedo, but all the extras they’ve ordered as well.
The reason I am writing this post? My last TWO weddings have had incomplete tuxedo orders. Both from the same big chain rental store. The first time, the groom was supposed to have a white tie to make him stand out from the groomsmen a bit more – but he received the same color as the rest! Luckily I was there (and the photographer was wearing a silver tie) – we “borrowed” (I don’t think he wanted it back) the photographer’s tie and cut off the bottom to use as a pocket square. My groom was differentiated from the rest of his party and the day was saved!
This past weekend, I had two groomsmen and a ring bearer all missing their pocket squares. We easily fixed this by simply cutting other pocket squares in half. Another crisis averted!
While I realize missing pocket squares or the wrong color tie will not truly ruin your wedding day, I want your day to match your vision. Reminding the gentlemen associated with your wedding day to check their order for completeness will help ensure your vision becomes a reality.
