The Uriartes and The Kersches

Another whirlwind wedding weekend!  Though I was only officiating both, I am still recovering from all the driving!

My weekend began my favorite way: a Friday evening wedding!  Morgan and Marcel were married at Nature’s Point out in Lago Vista.  This is an absolutely GORGEOUS venue, even if it is tucked out-of-the-way.  The ceremony was held on the lawn – a string quartet provided the ceremony music but unfortunately I did not get the company name.  The bridesmaids (I think there were 7!) wore short, strapless cocktail dresses in a vibrant red with white bouquets and the groomsmen all wore black tuxedos with red ties and white boutonnieres to match the ladies.  And I can’t forget the two cute little ring bearers in their tuxedos!  The bride was beaming in her traditional strapless gown with a pickup skirt and chapel train and the groom was dashing in his black on black tuxedo with white vest.  And Morgans bridal bouquet was absolutely stunning – red florals with orchids flowing down in a cascade.  And Marcel’s boutonniere matched her bouquet.

The ceremony was approximately 15 minutes – we had a last-minute change at the suggestion of a bridesmaid and it was perfect!  She was reading/singing the song Adam Sandler writes for Drew Barrymore at the end of The Wedding Singer – so we paraphrased the introduction to be similar to what Billy Idol says in the movie.  Hysterical!  The bride’s sister (and Maid of Honor) also sang God Bless the Broken Road.  It was really lovely.

My second wedding this weekend was Becca and Cody out at The Cypress Club in Spicewood.  This gorgeous outdoor location is well worth the drive out there.  There is an open air pavilion with kitchen and an outdoor bar – and in keeping with the casual air they wanted for their ceremony, Becca and Cody chose to open the bar half an hour prior to the ceremony.

There is an enormous lawn overlooking Lake Travis which is where we held the ceremony.  This bride and groom kept their ceremony simple and casual with no attendants.  Becca was radiant in a strapless, lace sheath while Cody was excitedly nervous in his jeans, white shirt and sport coat.  This ceremony was also around 15 minutes with some touches of humor.

I am reminded weekly what a gift I have been given to have found such a wonderful and rewarding career.  So thank you Morgan and Marcel and Becca and Cody for choosing me to play such an important role in your lives.  I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.

Be Carefree,

Suzanne
