Venue Ideas

Imagine the wonderful photos you will have at the Bob Bullock Museum.

Wedding venues are all around you and yet sometimes it can be the most difficult aspect of your wedding to book.  Maybe because the plethora of choices can be overwhelming.  Maybe because the cost can be overwhelming.  Here are some venue ideas you may not have thought of…

Do you love to read?  How about the downtown branch of your library?  Frequently the downtown branch is more ornate and could be a lovely and affordable setting for your wedding and reception.

Into history or art?  Why not check out museums.  I know the Bob Bullock Museum in downtown Austin is available for weddings – and what an amazing backdrop that can be for your photos!

Speaking of art – check local art galleries.  Especially if you are having a more intimate wedding.  And think of the money you will save on decorations!

Love the water?  An aquarium is a unique and unusual backdrop – don’t limit your thinking to just lakefront venues.

How about sports?  Check out your local sporting venues to see if they are available for rental.  You don’t have to have a sports themed wedding and some stadiums can be really decorative.

If you love movies or the theatre, check out historic theatres in your area to see what might be available.

Do you have a favorite bar or restaurant?  If your ceremony and reception is during their off hours you might find yourself getting a really great deal.

Don’t rely on the internet to tell you what venues are available – ask!  Think outside the box and you just may be surprised at what you find.

Be Carefree,

Suzanne
